Sergeant Major Anthony Stockman

Sergeant Major Anthony Stockman was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. In June 2005, he attended recruit training in Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. He then reported to School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, North Carolina for Marine Combat Training.  He was then transferred to Central Naval Aviation Technical Training School, Camp Pendleton, California where he earned the MOS of 6114. 
 
In February 2006, Sergeant Major Stockman reported for duty to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167, Marine Air Group 29, Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina. He was assigned to the Flight Line Division as an H-1 Mechanic. In July 2006 he was re-assigned to a forward deployed unit, Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269. While there he deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom 5-7, Operation Iraqi Freedom 6-8, Operation Enduring Freedom, and with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
 
In July 2011, Sergeant Major Stockman reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina for Drill Instructor Duty with Class 4-11, earning the additional MOS of 0911. He served as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Chief Drill Instructor for Echo Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion. In December 2014 Sergeant Major Stockman reported to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167, where he served as the SNCOIC for the Flight Line Division. In October 2015, Sergeant Major Stockman deployed with HMLA-167 for Unit Deployment Program 16.1 to Okinawa Japan, as the Flight Line Division Chief. Upon return from Okinawa in May 2016, Sergeant Major Stockman transferred from Flight Line to Maintenance Control, earning the additional MOS 6012, Safe For Flight. 
 
In January 2017 Sergeant Major Stockman transferred to Marine Aircraft Group 29 to serve as the Personnel Support Detachment, Company First Sergeant for MAG-29 Headquarters Company. In August 2017 Sergeant Major Stockman transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder, Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor. Sergeant Major Stockman served as an Officer Candidates School Sergeant Instructor augment in the summer of 2018 and summer of 2019. In May 2020 Sergeant Major Stockman was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and reported to 2d Battalion 2d Marines Company G as the Company First Sergeant. He deployed for Unit Deployment Program 21.1 to Okinawa Japan with Company G. In February 2022 Sergeant Major Stockman transferred to 1st Marine Raider Support Battalion, Communications Company First Sergeant. In September 2022 Sergeant Major Stockman transferred to 1st Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Raider Special Operations Company C where he assumed the duties as the MSOC Company First Sergeant. Sergeant Major Stockman attended the Joint Special Operations University from July 2022 to March 2023 and completed the Joint Special Operations Force Senior Enlisted Academy.
 
Sergeant Major Stockman was frocked to his current rank of Sergeant Major on 27 March 2022. In April 2023 he reported to Recruiting Station Milwaukee and assumed his current duties as the Recruiting Station Sergeant Major.
 
Sergeant Major Stockman’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star in lieu of second award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars in lieu of fourth award.
