Recruiters utilize unconventional methods to enhance athletes' endurance at All-Marine Wrestling Camp

4 Aug 2011 |

Weight rooms became obsolete at the All-Marine Wrestling Camp July 25-30 when our nation's elite warriors introduced dozens of Midwest high school students to a new dimension of physical fitness.

More than 120 athletes from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and the Dakotas attended the six-day camp, which was hosted by Recruiting Station Twin Cities to promote academic and athletic excellence.

All-Marine wrestlers and representatives from RS Twin Cities focused on endurance-enhancing exercises that simulate the strain of a live match.

"It couldn't have gone better," said Sgt. Daniel Zevnik, 27, from Milwaukee, Wis. "All of the kids were very engaged and got a great workout."

Zevnik, a wrestling camp conditioning coach and recruiter out of the Bloomington, Minn., office, also said all of the exercises wrestlers conducted were a product of the caveman training they receive at their local gym, Athletic Performance Inc.
