Sergeant Major Daceus is a native of Delray Beach, Florida. He enlisted in the Delay Entry Program in August 1999. He went to Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina between July - October 2000. Following completion of Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, Camp Lejeune in November 2000, he then attended Military Occupation School as Administrative Clerk on Camp Johnson.

He then reported to 1st Battalion, 2d Marines Regiment, Camp Lejeune in January 2001. He deployed to Okinawa, Japan on a Unit Deployment Program and assigned as Postal Clerk on the Fleet Assistance Program which his duties where at Camp Schwab Postal Office. In January 2003, he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I and II.

In April 2004, Sergeant Major Daceus reported to Marine Corps Recruiting Station Orlando in Orlando, Florida. He was assigned as Operations Clerk. He was then reassigned as Administration Clerk until he received Orders to Drill Instructor School.

In September 2006, he reported to Drill Instructor School at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. After graduating as a Drill Instructor, he attended the Marital Arts Instructor School on Parris Island. Upon completion, he reported to Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion. He completed his tour as Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Company Operations Chief.

In March 2010, he reported to 7th Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, Camp Pendleton as Administration Chief. Then reassigned to Combat Logistics Battalion 11 and deployed with 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit in 2011 - 2012 on MEU WESTPAC 11.1.

In October 2013, he reported to Combined Arms Training Center, Camp Fuji, Japan as Personnel Chief.

In November 2014, he reported to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 122, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort as Administration Chief. He deployed with VMFA-122 to the Western Pacific on a Unit Deployment Program in 2016 and upon returned was promoted to First Sergeant.

In November 2016, he reported to 2d Maintenance Battalion, Camp Lejeune as Company First Sergeant and rotated through four companies. February, 2020 Sergeant Major Daceus was frocked and reported to Marine Corps Recruiting Station Chicago for duty.

Sergeant Major Daceus’ personal awards are Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal in lieu of third award, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal in lieu of fifth award, and Combat Action Ribbon.
