SgtMaj Brock A. Milford enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1997 and   attended recruit training at 2nd RTB, Marine Corp Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA, were he was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class. Milford reported to the Marine Combat Training followed by his MOS school, Aviation Life Support Systems. Upon completion of school Milford reported for duty with 2nd Marine Air Wing, HMH-461, MCAS New River. Milford was promoted the rank of LCpl in July of 1998. During his tour he completed 1 humanitarian Mission, 3 Combined Arms exercises and was promoted to the rank of Cpl in April 1999.

 

 In October of 2000, Corporal Milford reported to HMM-266, 2nd Marine Air Wing, for his Mediterranean deployment aboard the USS Battan in support of Operation Rapid Cheetah to the former Peoples Republic of Yugoslavia (Kosovo).In April of 2000 Milford was promoted to the rank of Sgt. In Sept 2003, Sgt Milford was deployed to Iraq for 9 months with HMM-261 in support of OIF II/III conducting combat operations as an Aerial Gunner on the CH-46E following his promotion to Staff Sergeant in Dec 2004.

 

His other duties consisted of Aviation Life Support Specialist SNCOIC. In Dec 2006, SSgt Milford was deployed aboard the USS Kearsarge, in support of OIF 5/6 where he again served as an Arial Gunner on the CH-46E. While deployed, he also conducted Anti-Piracy operations off the coast of Somalia. In Oct of 2006, SSgt Milford reported to Drill Instructor School, Parris Island, as a student. In Jan 2007, he reported to Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, for duty as Drill Instructor. SSgt Milford completed 9 cycles as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor and Series Gunnery Sergeant for Fox, Quebec and Lima Company.

 

 In Apr 2008 SSgt Milford reported to Special Training Company, Parris Island where he served as the Company Gunnery Sergeant. He was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant in Aug of 2009. GySgt Milford finished his last six months aboard Parris Island as the Company First Sergeant of special training company. In Jan of 2010, GySgt Milford reported to HMLA-267, were he served as the Flight Equipment SNCOIC.

 

In May of 2010 he was transferred to HMLA-267 Maintenance Control where he served as a Maintenance Controller and SNCOIC of Maintenance Control. In May of 2011 GySgt Milford deployed with HMLA-267 to OEF where he served as both Maintenance Control SNCOIC as well as an Aerial Gunner on the UH-1Y in support of combat operations. GySgt Milford reported to Officers Candidate School in May of 2012 where he served as a Sergeant Instructor in Charlie Company.

 

On January 15th 2013 GySgt Milford was frocked to 1stSgt, where he served as the company 1stSgt for Charlie Company. In May of 2013 1stSgt Milford reported to Headquarters & Service Battalion Marine Corps Base Quantico where he served as the company 1stSgt for Combat Development Company and Tennant activities Company. In May of 2015 1stSgt Milford reported to Headquarters Company 8th Marine Regiment where he served as the company 1stSgt and Regimental SgtMaj for 9 months. In January of 2017 1stSgt Milford reported to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion 8th Marine Regiment, he served as the company 1stSgt. In August 2017 1stSgt Milford Deployed to Okinawa Japan for 6 months.

SgtMaj Milford was frocked to his current rank on April 8th 2018. He reported to Recruiting Station Kansas City on May 14th.

 

Milford’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal/Strike Flight with numeral 7, The Navy Commendation medal, gold star in lieu of second award. The Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award. He is married to the former Emily Bouchez of Williams field, IL.  They have two daughters: Brittany and Madison and one granddaughter Isabella
