Gunnery Sgt. Avery Cruz, an Officer Candidate School platoon sergeant, gives guidance to his candidate platoon sergeant during the 9th Marine Corps District's OCS Preparatory Weekend April 12 at Fort McCoy, Wis. Cruz was one of four platoon sergeants to help bring a taste of OCS to nearly 200 candidates.
