Drill Instructor Staff Sgt. Damian Rodriguez teaches a poolee how to count off during a family night event April 16. More than 100 poolees from Recruiting Substations Kalamazoo and Battle Creek, along with friends and families, attended the event. Three drill instructors talked to the parents and poolees about the transformation their sons or daughters would go through during their 13 weeks in recruit training. Rodriguez is assigned to 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Delta Company, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego.
