Hundreds of local residents visited Veterans Memorial Park May 30 to honor the memory of service members listed on the Honoring All Veterans Memorial and those serving at home and abroad today. The memorial’s centerpiece is a bronze bust of Iwo Jima flag-raiser and former Richfield, Minn., resident Cpl. Charles "Chuck" W. Lindberg. Four granite tablets, each with 120 veterans' names, have been erected near the bronze statue. A fifth tablet is in the process of being filled with names and the site will continue to grow as additional service members are added.
