Pfc. Joseph Hauer, 19, from Lino Lakes, Minn., presents an American flag to his mother, Liz, during a funeral service for his father at Fort Snelling National Cemetery May 16. Hauer's father, Joe, was a Bronze Star and Purple Heart recipient who served in the Marines and completed three tours in Vietnam. Hauer, a Centennial High School graduate, completed boot camp in late 2011 and is currently stationed at Twentynine Palms, Calif., with 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion.
