Sen. Dick Durbin shakes the hand of Cpl. (ret) Deloyce McMurray during a Montford Point Marine ceremony in which he was presented the Congressional Gold Medal July 2 at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. McMurray enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1944 and was one of the few African Americans sent to the segregated Montford Point, North Carolina for basic training.
