Olivia G. Ortiz, a Recruiting Sub-Station Gladstone poolee, performs a flexed-arm hang during Recruiting Station Kansas City's all-female pool function outside 9th Marine Corps District's Building 712 March 15, 2014. The poolees were instructed on close-order drill, what to expect during recruit training, and hygiene by female drill instructors. They also performed a mock Inital Strength Test with consisted of the flexed-arm hang, crunches and 1.5-mile run. Poolees from all the Recruiting Sub-Stations in the RS were on-hand for the event.
