Lieutenant Col. Jason K. Fettig, the United States Marine Band director, conducts the Marine Band while Gunnery Sgt. Samuel Barlow, a Marine Band trombonist, performs the solo portion of composer Arthur Pryor's "Fantastic Polka" in Helzberg Hall at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Mo., as part of its 2014 National Tour. The Marine Band, also known as the "President's Own", is the oldest military band in the nation and the oldest professional musical organization in the country. The Marine Band performs at state funerals, presidential inaugurations, various sporting events, and other significant national events.
