Sergeant Major Johnnie Hughes, the outgoing Marine Corps Recruiting Station Kansas City sergeant major, speaks to those in attendance at the conclusion of RS Kansas City's sergeant major relief and appointment ceremony at the Kansas City Military Entrance Processing Station April 17, 2015. Hughes, a former drill instructor, spoke of his time as the RS' sergeant major as a learning experince, witnessing first hand the sacrifices and challenges, but also rewards, recruiters must make to find quality men and women who wish to serve in the Marine Corps.
