Marines with 9th Marine Corps District, based out of Naval Station Great Lakes, Illinois, salute during the national anthem during a ceremony in San Diego, Calif., Oct. 11. The Marine recruiters in attendance were recognized for their efforts during a two-month recruiting offensive, Operation Herculean Effort, where they went above and beyond to find the most highly qualified men and women to join the Marine Corps, from across the Midwest.
