Major Michael D. Krueger was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on 9 June 1988. He attended the University of Wisconsin Stevens-Point where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Commissioned in January 2012. He was assigned the Military Occupation Specialty (MOS) of Field Artillery Officer and upon completion of The Basic School, he reported to and completed the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Sill, OK.

Upon graduation from Fort Sill, Major Krueger reported to 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, Camp Pendleton, CA. During his tenure in Camp Pendleton, Major Krueger served in the roles of Platoon Commander, Battery Fire Direction Officer, and Battery Executive Officer. He deployed with Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines in 2015 in support of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.  Upon returning from deployment, Major Krueger served as the 11th Marine Regimental Fire Direction Officer until notification to report for Recruiting Duty in Recruiting Station Orlando, Florida.

Upon reporting to Recruiting Station Orlando in May 2016, Major Krueger served as the Recruiting Station Operations Officer and was a part of the Recruiting Station Headquarters relocating from Orlando, FL to Tampa, FL. Major Krueger finished his time on recruiting duty in July 2019, serving all 38 months as the Operations Officer. Departing then Recruiting Station Tampa, Major Krueger reported to Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, VA from 2019 to the summer of 2020.

Upon graduation Major Krueger reported to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan in June 2020. There he served as the Assistant Logistics Officer as well as the Battery Commander for Headquarters Battery from November 2020 to August 2021. In September 2021 Major Krueger reported to the Command Element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), as the Fire Support Officer. 

From 2021 to 2023, Major Krueger completed three deployments with the 31st MEU until notification to report to Recruiting Station Indianapolis, where he assumed command in June of 2023.

Major Krueger's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
