Major Gravelle reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina and graduated on December 6, 1996. He was meritoriously promoted to Private First Class and reported to Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry-East.
Upon graduation in 1997, Major Gravelle was assigned to Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines. He deployed to Okinawa and was promoted to Lance Corporal during this time. He then deployed to the Republic of Panama in 1998 and was promoted to Corporal after returning. Major Gravelle then deployed with the 24th MEU and was promoted to Sergeant in August 2000.
Major Gravelle reported to SOI-East in March of 2001. Major Gravelle was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant in 2003. He then reported to Anti-Terrorism Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina in 2004.
While at Anti-Terrorism Battalion, Major Gravelle deployed to Ramadi, Iraq as a Military Transition Team Member in 2005. In 2007, he deployed to Diyala Province, Iraq as a route clearance platoon commander. Upon returning, Major Gravelle was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant and selected for Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST).
Upon graduation in 2008, he was accepted to the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP) and reported to Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Florida in 2009. He was promoted to Master Sergeant in August 2012 and after graduation, he commissioned as a Second Lieutenant with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in December 2012.
Upon completion of The Basic School in 2014, Major Gravelle attended the Logistics Officers Course (LOC). He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant upon graduation and reported to 1st Battalion, 8th Marines. Major Gravelle deployed with the Black Sea Rotational Force 16.1 in 2016. Upon returning, Major Gravelle was frocked to Captain and served as the Battalion Logistics Officer for 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion until 2017. Major Gravelle attended AY18 Expeditionary Warfare School in 2017.
Upon graduating in 2018, he reported to Recruiting Station Charlotte, Charlotte, NC as the Operations Officer until 2022. Major Gravelle attended the AY23 Marine Corps Command and Staff College, earning a Master’s degree in Military Studies. He was promoted to his current rank and selected to be the Recruiting Station Commanding Officer of Oklahoma City where he currently serves.
Major Gravelle’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (with 3 gold stars in lieu of 4th award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with combat distinguishing device and 1 gold stars in lieu of 2nd award), Combat Action Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal (with 3 bronze stars in lieu of 4th award).
