Major Craig A. Muma

Major Muma enlisted in the Marine Corps in August 2003 and completed all basic training by January 2004.  Pvt Muma then attended the Basic Geographic Intelligence Specialist course aboard Fort Belvoir, Virginia.  Upon Completion of all training requirements in December 2004, LCpl Muma returned to Camp Pendleton, California.

In December 2004, LCpl Muma reported to the 1st Intelligence Battalion, Production, and Analysis Company.  From 2005 to 2007, he deployed to Al Anbar Province, Iraq, three times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, during which time he served as an Intelligence Analyst and a Topographic Detachment Chief.  In 2007 Sergeant Muma reached his End of Active-Duty Service and transferred to the Individual Ready Reserve.

In 2011 he graduated from Central Washington University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 2012.  After completing The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia, and Adjutant Officer Course in Camp Johnson, North Carolina, he was assigned as the Adjutant for 6th Engineer Support Battalion, Portland, Oregon, from June 2013 until July 2014.  During this period, he completed his graduate degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Argosy University.

In July 2014, First Lieutenant Muma volunteered to serve as the Manpower and Staffing Officer for Headquarters Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC.  During this period, he supported large-scale multinational exercises, including African Lion, Bold Alligator, and Eager Lion.   From July 2015 to June 2017, First Lieutenant Muma served as the Operational Sponsor for Marine Corps Recruiting Command Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Program in Quantico, Virginia.

In July 2017, Captain Muma joined the Active Reserve Program and was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve, G-1, New Orleans, Louisiana, where he served as the IMA operational Group Manager and the Force Adjutant.  In June 2020, Captain Muma assumed duties as the Marine Air Control Group 48 Adjutant in Great Lakes, Illinois.  He assisted with the development of Gunslinger 22, a first-of-its-kind integrated aviation training exercise championed by an air control group featuring all aspects of the Marine Air Command and Control System.  In February 2023, he was promoted to Major.  Major Muma assumed his duties as the Prior Service Recruiting Officer In Charge for the 9th Marine Corps Recruiting District in June 2023.

Maj Muma's personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (w/ 2 gold stars in lieu of 3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.
