Harstine, who put eight platoons through boot camp, will complete his three-year tour as a drill instructor with 2nd Recruit Training Battalion in February. Gunnery Sgt. Michael Soucy, 38, from Biddeford, Maine, honors Korean War veteran Sgt. Douglas B. Michaud during a memorial mass at the Incarnation Catholic Church Jan. 7. Michaud, who passed away on Dec. 8, 2010, became one of the "Chosin Few" after fighting at the Chosin Reservoir in 1950 when "the 1st Marine Division found itself surrounded and outnumbered eight to one by the Chinese army."
