With a giant inflatable drill instructor staring over her shoulder, Julie Norman, from Callaway, Minn., attemptes to hang for 70 seconds on a pull-up bar at the 26th annual WE Fest in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Recruiters set up an information booth at the 16th annual WE Fest, a country music festival in Detroit Lakes, Minn., Aug. 7-9, to promote awareness of the Marine Corps and maintain a friendly face. Marines captured the attention of more than 200 applicants each day out of the festival’s 48,000 total attendees.
